Implant Recycling Gold Coast
It is common for people to bequeath money to charitable causes close to their heart from their will when they pass on, but did you know there are other ways in which your loved ones can help the less fortunate even after they’re gone?
At Eco Memorial Park, we operate an implant recycling scheme, so if your loved one was a user of an artificial implant such as an artificial hip or knee joint, we are able to collect these implants after their cremation to be recycled, with all proceeds donated to local charities. So, how does the system work? Keep reading or reach out to us.
Eco Friendly Implant Recycling
Choosing the Eco Memorial Park is a commitment to commemorate your nearest and dearest after they have passed in a way that is environmentally sustainable, and this is something we can continue even after they’re gone.
Many medical implants are manufactured using polluting and rare earth metals, and we believe that these shouldn’t simply go to waste, so we are able to gather them after your loved one has been cremated and recycle them through our hand-picked recycling partner.
This allows the implants to be melted down and used again, significantly reducing their carbon footprint and bringing that same freedom to another person at the same time.
OrthoMetals
Once they have been collected, the implants are sent to our recycling partners, OrthoMetals.
OrthoMetals is a family-run business based in the Netherlands that processes and recycles them by hand.
The team are able to handle a variety of different types of implant, from hip and knee replacements all the way to dental implants and grips and pins of all kinds, as well as any metal that may have been included with the casket you have chosen.
Once processed, they will be melted down and re-forged into new implants for those who need them, and we guarantee that the metal will not be used for any other purpose. This allows your departed loved one to continue helping others with acts of kindness even after they are gone and honours their dedication to protecting the environment.
What Happens To The Money From implant Recycling?
The money that is generated by re-using your loved one’s medical implants is then used by our team here at Eco Memorial Park to enrich others’ lives through charitable donations here in the Gold Coast, and we donate all proceeds to charities close to our hearts. All the resources generated by the many families who say goodbye to their friends and relatives at Eco Memorial Park are pooled together and donated, which is something that has already made a huge difference to the lives of families all over the Gold Coast, many of whom are suffering through bereavements of their own.
